Cloud9 have come back from a 10-15 deficit to beat Titan 22-18 (4-11, 11-4, 2-1, 1-2, 3-0, 1-0) in double overtime at ESL One Cologne 2014.
Cloud9 stopped Titan's aggressive B push on de_dust2 with Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen scoring two kills. The French-Belgians quickly eveved up the game though, thanks to Kenny "kennyS" Schrub' triple.
Two save rounds later Titan took out A and forced C9 on another save. Down 1-5, kennyS ran out of time in a one-on-three and gave the North Americans their second round.
Spencer "Hiko" Martin then scored three kills in a one-on-three, but had no time to defuse. Down 2-7, Cloud9 couldn't stop Titan's mid-to-B attack, as Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans racked two kills.
Finally Mike "shroud" Grzesiek put in four kills in a B retake to win C9 a round. Titan easily took over B next to make it 10-3, and survived a scare as Hiko missed a defuse right after.
Key FAMAS frags by Sean "seang@res" Gares kept Cloud9 within an arm's reach, as Titan collapsed acrossed the map on the final round, which gave them an 11-4 half time lead.
Titan started struggling after a 11-4 lead
Another double by seang@res got his team the second pistol round, and after two save rounds by Titan they shrank the deficit to 7-11. Titan bounced back though, shutting C9 down in the middle.
Doubles by seang@res and Jordan "n0thing" Gilbert got Cloud9 another weapon round, breaking Titan's money in the process, and got them within two rounds at 10-12.
Titan adjusted with a dual-AWP setup that shut down C9, backed by smart play by Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt in the counter-terrorist spawn. Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom double then shut down C9 in B.
NBK- played hero once again to give Titan map point at 15-10, as he escaped a one-on-one with seang@res with five health points and barely enough time to defuse.
With the game all but over, SEMPHIS and Hiko won a two-on-four after plant in the B site. After a save, the duo won a two-on-two in A, forcing another save.
Cloud9 celebrate another upset win versus the Titan guys
All of a sudden with one round to go in regulation, Titan seemingly cracked under pressure and were taken out easily across the map, as Cloud9 forced overtime in the game.
Triple headshot round by ScreaM stopped C9 in round one, but another triple by SEMPHIS tied it, and a third triple by Hiko in a three-on-five after plant gave his team the lead.
Second half of overtime saw Titan face two game points as Cloud9 quickly won round one, but were able to overcome it as shroud couldn't clutch either of the two rounds.
In second overtime early picks by n0thing and seang@res netted C9 round one. ScreaM then almost won a one-on-four with three quick AK-47 headshots, but ultimately lost to Hiko.
Final round saw Titan attack all across the map, seemingly out of it, and lose. To add insult to injury, SEMPHIS overcame the odds in a one-on-two in B to clinch the game right after. ESL One Cologne 2014Best of 1 Cloud9
